It's Throwback Thursday as we take a look back at 100 years of broadcasting at CHAB - Moose Jaw.

Today's memory comes from the local Rogers family.  They were going through some paperwork from Jan's late aunt, Mrs. Farnell and they found a gem.

It's a cheque - never cashed - dated February 10th, 1966.  It's in the amount of $2.50 and it's from CHAB Ltd., "Operators of CHRE-TV Regina, CHAB-TV Moose Jaw and CHAB-RADIO.  The cheque tells me the studios were then located at 127 Main Street North and the fancy logo in the top left-hand corner on the cheque tells me CHRE Channel 9 and CHAB Channel 4 is "Saskatchewan's Very POWERFUL Combination".

The CHAB Radio logo in the top right-hand corner reads, "Over 40 Years Serving and Selling Saskatchewan".

And you know, Mrs. Farnell endorsed that cheque with her signature on the backside.

We'll never know why she chose not to cash the cheque - perhaps it was worth more to her as a keepsake then the $2.50 she would have received by taking it to the bank.

And, I'll bet she'd be happy to know we're sharing it with you today.  You can see it for yourself at the bottom of this page
