There's a lot of buzz around the Moose Jaw Events Centre, as the Moose Jaw Warriors kicked off this year's training camp on Wednesday. Players took part in registration and introductions and then got right into it with fitness testing. On-ice sessions will take place on Thursday with both the rookie and main camps. The camp will end with the annual Black/White intrasquad game at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, followed by meetings.  

The Moose Jaw Tennis Club held their annual tournament last weekend. Below are the winners:

Men’s Doubles: Scott Evans and Brian Swanson vs Nick McGonigal and Bryce Warren. Winners Scott Evans and Brian Swanson: 4-6, 6-1, 6-3

Ladies’ Doubles: Megan Smith and Ning Long vs Brigitte Wiebe and Joan Buckmaster. Winners: Megan Smith and Ning Long: 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.

Week 13 of the CFL season starts tomorrow night with the Montreal Alouettes hosting Ottawa. The Riders, of course, will welcome the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the sold-out Labour Day Classic on Sunday afternoon. Head coach Craig Dickenson had to go into quarantine this week after testing positive for COVID-19.  It's expected he'll be back on the job Saturday.

In the Major Leagues....the Chicago Cubs outscored the Blue Jays 7-5 on Wednesday night. The Jays travel to Pittsburgh on Thursday for a weekend series vs. the Pirates.
