With the weird and wild weather we've experienced these first few weeks of fall, it's a good time to get reacquainted with some winter driving rules, especially if you're travelling this long weekend.

Most importantly, remember to slow down if the weather conditions turn ugly on the highway.

"I guess people aren't really used to driving in winterlike conditions so early in the year," shared Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, Lori Carr. "So I just ask everybody to take a little more time and get used to driving on that ice and be safe."

While we might not see one in Saskatchewan but with the snow Alberta has been seeing, it's a possibility to see a snow plow out in action in our neighbouring province.

"If you are behind one, please be patient," Carr added. "They stop about every 10-15 miles to let traffic go by."

So far, Moose Jaw has clear weather in the current forecast. Road conditions are also available 24/7 with the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline.
