The Swift Current Broncos moved in front in the Eastern Conference Final, while the Tri-City Americans stayed alive in the Western Conference Final as both series played Game 5 on Saturday night.

The Broncos scored a 4-3 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes to take a 3-2 series lead. Giorgio Estephan continued his big series against his former team with a pair of goals in the win for Swift.

The game saw the Broncos receive a boost with captain Glenn Gawdin and veteran defenceman Artyom Minulin returning to the lineup after missing Games 3 and 4 in Lethbridge.

Over in the West, Tri-City fought off elimination with a 5-2 win over the Everett Silvertips. Defenceman Juuso Välimäki scored twice in the win for the Americans, who cut Everett’s lead to 3-2 in the series.

Both series will be back on the ice on Monday night for Game 6.
