By definition, this is a "young and inexperienced person considered to be presumptuous or overconfident".  It...is a "whippersnapper".

We have evidence there are more whippersnappers now than ever before.

The  Canadian Federation of Independent Business has found 56% of Saskatchewan employers say high schools are not adequately preparing young people for today's jobs.  They're calling on government and schools to do more to "connect employers and youth".

The stats back this up.  Small businesses are facing "record-high job vacancy rates" and "youth unemployment remains almost twice as high as the national average" here in Saskatchewan.

The CFIB concludes our high schools "tend to be more focused on preparing youth for higher education instead of work...putting them at a serious disadvantage when they look for that...first job."

You see?  They ARE, in fact, "whippersnappers".  And it's not their fault!
