After a full week to consider their options the provincial government has decided to go after Colin Thatcher and the profits from his new book.

"Final Appeal: Anatomy of a Frame" was released last week and was flying off local book store shelves.  But the provincial government passed a new law in the spring that stated convicted criminals are not allowed to make a profit from their crime stories.

Thatcher maintains his book is about his legal battles but the province disagrees and is looking to seize all profits.  They held a meeting on Wednesday to go over their game plan and are now sending out letters to get all financial information from the publisher so they can apply for the profits. The money seized under the law is supposed to go to victims of crime.
