The majority of southern Saskatchewan is under freezing rain or snowfall warnings

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Moose Jaw and the surrounding area, as a low-pressure system makes its way through the province.

The freezing rain is expected to start Thursday evening and last throughout the night and could bring a thunderstorm with it.

As temperatures drop overnight, there is also the possibility of snow falling with the rain as well.

If you have to drive tonight or Friday morning, be aware that highways, roads, sidewalks, and parking lots could become quite icy.

While a portion of south-central Saskatchewan is under a freezing rain warning, much of the rest of southern Saskatchewan is under a snowfall warning. If you need to travel east, southeast, or northwest, it is recommended you wait until the system passes, or you use extreme caution while on the road.
