Moose Jaw is home to some fishing champions after a local father and son take home 2nd place and 1st place for biggest fish in the 32nd annual Riverhurst Walleye Classic.

On the weekend of June 18th and 19th, Father John Bell and son Carson Bell competed alongside hundreds of teams across the province.

According to Carson, they have fished together since the time he could walk.

The pair won 2nd place out of the whole competition after filling their boat with some of the heaviest walleye. So heavy, that one of their walleyes won 1st place in the category of the biggest walleye of the tournament.

After winning both titles, the pair went home with a prize fund of $4,440.

The Bell's talked with Discover Moose Jaw's Katherine Ludwig about their experiences fishing together and competing in the tournament.
