"Follow your dreams because maybe they just might come true."
That, from Saskatchewan Conservative Senator Denise Batters on this International Women's Day.
It's a day to celebrate, a day to recognize achievement and a day to talk about the work that still needs to be done around the world.
"Invest in Women: Accelerating Progress" is the theme in 2024.
We're visiting with Senator Batters today. She knew she wanted to be a lawyer when she was a little girl and by the time she was 12, she knew she wanted a seat in the Senate. Remarkable, to say the least.
Senator Batters took some time with us to reflect on her career and the challenges that come with being a role model for girls and women across the country.
Have a listen.
