The first of two household hazardous waste collection days will take place on Saturday. 

 From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can drop off any unwanted chemicals and other hazardous materials from their household free of charge at the City Complex at 1010 High St. W. 

Some of the accepted materials include: 

  • Aerosol cans (hair spray, deodorant, household cleaners, etc.) 
  • Liquid household cleaners 
  • Batteries (lithium ion, alkaline, rechargable, etc.) 
  • Light bulbs (fluorescent, LED, metal halide, etc.) 

Residents are also reminded that oil, oil filters, oil containers and antifreeze can be disposed of at the city landfill free of charge during regular hours of operation. Unwanted paint and electronics can be dropped off at SARCAN.
