And so it begins....

The inspirational messages from some of the people I follow on social media.  They're sharing words of wisdom from authors unknown, messages like this one:  "If you want this to be your year, don't sit on the couch and wait for it.  Go out.  Make a change.  Smile more.  Be excited.  Do new things...Go to bed early.  Wake up early.  Don't gossip.  Show more gratitude.  Do things that challenge you.  Be brave."

Inspiring?  Well, interesting to note, the person who posted this also posted a photo of herself on the couch earlier this week.

Studies show New Year's resolutions don't really work.

You've heard of life coaches?  Well, Steve Errey is a confidence coach in the UK.  He says it's "pointless waiting all year to decide on one or two things that you kinda, sorta want to stop doing."

He also says "Too often, resolutions are decided upon by looking at other people's expectations."

The bottom line, according to Steve?  "Forget about what other people think you ought to be doing and look at what you really want."

Happy New Year!
