Moose Jaw City Council will sit down to chat about the results of an Insightrix Research survey on curbside garbage pickup.

Last week we told you that 400 residents were called and asked what they thought about the move from back alley to front street collection, with half of those taking part coming from areas with curbside pickup and half from areas without.

According to the results, 85% of respondents preferred back alley pickup to curbside - but when asked to consider the city saving of $152,000 per year with curbside pickup, that number dropped to 51%.

"The next step is for City Council." said Craig Hemingway, Communications Manager with the City of Moose Jaw. "Council has this information and they will deliberate it as part of the overall presentation from engineering. This survey is one piece of that puzzle and council will contemplate this information and factor it into their decision."

City Council will sit down to discuss the results and information tonight.
