There are some locals who believe the City of Moose Jaw should wait until after Remembrance Day to put up the Christmas decorations downtown.

So, the local man goes to the MJ Talks! Facebook page and asks, "Serious question...If I go to the Remembrance Day ceremony and wear a poppy, do you honestly care when I put up...Christmas decorations?  I'm not sure how Christmas lights are disrespectful."

Dozens responded.  Donna wrote, "We had veterans on both sides of our family...We never ever frowned on early Christmas decor!"

I especially liked what Kay had to say.  "My grandfather and great grandfather were both vets of the world wars.  They both loved Christmas...They fought for freedom.  They missed so many Christmases because of those wars.  Christmas brings out the best in most people.  I say decorate as soon as you want."

And, one more, from Lauraine.  "I am a veteran.  My husband is a veteran.  Of course we don't care when decorations go up."

There you go.  It appears we can show our respect for our veterans and get ready for Christmas while we're at it.
