She was one of over 10,500 Saskatchewanians who tested positive for COVID-19.  She was one of many struggling to breathe in Intensive Care Units in Saskatchewan hospitals.  Today, as she prepares to go home for more rest, Kathy Ziglo is grateful she was not one of the 66 people who have died due to the coronavirus.  She was close.

The defending Provincial Women's Amateur Golf Champion is sharing her story in an effort to help us all understand how powerful and dangerous COVID-19 is.

"I was scared," she said as she fought back the tears.  "All my energy went into literally learning how to breathe.  I would get caught up and I couldn't take a breath.  It was like I didn't know how.  I was gasping and I was choking.  It was hard."

Kathy also told us, when she gets back to living life, she won't go anywhere without a mask and, she said, "If the opportunity presents itself to get the vaccine, I will be standing at the front of the line."

If you know someone who still believes this is just another flu bug, I'd suggest you direct them to DiscoverMooseJaw.com to read the story and listen to Kathy Ziglo.
