After a second-place finish in 2011, Trevor Peterson is back as the N-D-P Candidate for Cypress Hills-Grasslands for Monday's federal election.

Peterson says the Canadian Wheat Board has been one of the major issues he's heard from voters in the riding, and if elected, he'll push for an audit of the Harper government's handling of it.

"The government's handling of the Canadian Wheat Board has basically been a disgrace and anti-democratic since the moment they refused to let the farmers vote on how best to market their grain. We need to have an audit on why farmers were paid $720 million dollars less than the 10 year average when Gerry Ritz took over the Wheat Board."

Peterson is on the ballot along with incumbent Conservative M-P David Anderson, Liberal candidate Marvin Wiens, and William Caton of the Green Party.

All four are set to be in attendance at an all-candidates forum tonight in Assiniboia.
