In the event of a Canada Post service disruption which could happen as early as July 2nd, SGI is making sure customers are prepared.

Kelley Brinkworth, Manager of Media Relations for SGI reminds customers there are other options such as online services and doing business in person with their motor license issuer or SGI Canada broker. Brinkworth also reminds customers to check when their license and plates expire.

"Normally we would be sending out reminders via mail, but if there is no mail going out, in the event of a disruption then we wouldn't be able to send you those reminders so, we just want you to check those, and make arrangements to pay, or renew because we don't want your insurance coverage to lapse."

MySGI allows the use of some online transactions as well as sends reminders when license and plates are going to expire.
