In the midst of a recent cold snap, Riverside Mission in downtown Moose Jaw is prepared to help where they can.

"We see mostly men coming through the door, who will stay outside during the hot months, [in a] tent or whatever," explained Interim Manager Rachel Mullens. "In the winter months, they need a place to stay; they'll come here and look for a warm bed and some warm meals."

The shelter does have space for 10 beds at this time, although they do have additional space if need be.

While Riverside Mission is a shelter for men, they aren't the only ones who require assistance in the cold weather.

"If a female comes through our doors, we will often call social [services] on their behalf and try to locate a place for them. We will also offer to give them a ride into Regina to Souls Harbour Mission there, so we don't just leave them high and dry. We do our best to help them out."

Those who need help are encouraged to call or simply stop by the Mission as there is always someone available to help.
