The United States government has made a swift 180 degree turn on keeping the border near Regway open 24 hours.

Starting this Tuesday, the Port of Raymond, directly south of Regina on the way into Montana, will return to its 24 hour schedule.

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) decreased from 24 hours to an 18 hour schedule, and was temporarily open from only 6 a.m. to midnight each day.

Provincial trucking organizations were unhappy with the changes. The CBP said they will review the feedback they’ve received and will monitor traffic through Raymond.
