Twenty-eight hand made quilts were donated to the Southwest Daycare and Early Learning Centre by Quilters Haven.

Self-referenced as 'Haven's Quilting Angels,' the group of ten 75+ year old quilters took one month to complete all 28 quilts, and all of their material was either donated or fundraised themselves.

Arlyce Thompson is one of the owners of Quilers Haven and says their group loves what they do.

"We got so much enjoyment out of it, just seeing their faces, and the little girl asking 'which one is mine?'"

Havens Quilting Angels came together in 2011 when Slave Lake had a devastating fire.

Although 28 is a lot of quilts, Thompson explains that they have done even bigger projects than this one.

"When High River had their flood, we took close to 300 quilts there. We also did Riverside Mission for their single beds here in Moose Jaw."

The group is happy to make donations of quilts or quillows to anybody who may be in need.
