Wet heavy snow had SaskPower crews putting in extra hours in Moose Jaw and around southern Saskatchewan on Sunday.

The late September snowfall caused a number of power problems around the province in a variety of places.  Estevan, Weyburn, Lafleche, Wood Mountain, Lumsden, Craven and a number of other areas had service interruptions on Sunday caused by trees falling on lines, as well as heavy snow weighing down the lines.  In some cases, power poles were broken.

In Moose Jaw the power was lost to a significant part of the city Sunday afternoon and SaskPower crews continued to work on the problem well into Sunday night.  The situation was the same in many of the areas feeling the effects of the widespread outage.  The lights remained off into Sunday evening with no estimated time of return.
