Several organizations in Moose Jaw and the area were among the 43 organizations to receive a total of $980,000 in funding through the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF). 

The funding is paid by the Government of Canada and distributed through United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada, and the Canadian Red Cross. 

United Way Regina received 61 applications for funding. 

The following organizations will be receiving funding: 

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina & Area (Regina, Moose Jaw and Weyburn areas). $65,000 
  • Canadian Mental Health Association - Moose Jaw Branch, $20,000 
  • Eden Care Communities Foundation (Regina and Moose Jaw areas) $6,500 
  • Habitat For Humanity Regina, $18,000 
  • Iver Main Place Inc (Central Butte), $20,000 
  • John Howard Society of Saskatchewan, $20,000 
  • Moose Jaw and District Foodbank, $20,000 
  • Moose Jaw Family Services, $22,000 
  • Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association, $25,000 
  • YMCA of Regina (Moose Jaw Area), $5,080 

The ECSF provides funds for charities adapting their frontline services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
