In the month of November, just over eleven hundred people were caught by police driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while on a suspended license.

Tyler McMurchy, SGI's media relations manager explains that they saw more than eleven hundred people caught driving when they shouldn't have, either with a suspended license, unregistered vehicle, not obeying the restrictions on their license or driving without a license entirely. He also adds that in all those cases, its a really bad idea.

McMurchy also gives details about the consequences if you are caught.

"You are looking at getting your vehicle impounded at roadside and then you have to go to court and depending on the reason for you original suspension, it's either going to be a criminal code charge or its a traffic safety act of violation if it wasn't a criminal code charge"

McMurchy says that they encourage people not to drive unregistered vehicles, it's roughly in line with what they saw last time they did the traffic safety spotlight on this issue last November, he adds it's very similar across the board.
