Mayor Glenn Hagel, new President Jim Millar and outgoing President Darcy McDonald

There was a changing of the guard Thursday night for the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce.  Darcy McDonald passed the gavel to new president Jim Millar.

Following their Annual General Meeting, McDonald hosted a special banquet to introduce the new president. With their membership at 500 businesses right now, McDonald said this is a great time to be part of the organization and was pleased to have a chance to be president.

He also took the time to thank the members of the Chamber of Commerce for their dedication to our community. "We often overlook the contribution made by the small and medium size businesses. We are the ones who create jobs. A lot of jobs we create at a risk to our own personal capital. We also create the wealth that makes it possible for communities to flourish."

Newly sworn in president Jim Millar thanked the Chamber Board for believing in him and giving him this opportunity.  Millar is the Executive Officer of the Moose Jaw Real Estate Board and is looking forward to working with all local businesses to make things even better in our community.

"I'm very excited to be the Chamber President at this time in Moose Jaw. This is an exciting time here. There are people moving in, buildings going up and houses selling for values comparable to the rest of the country." said Millar.  "There's even a rush hour now and I can never remember there being a rush hour in Moose Jaw."

Millar says Moose Jaw is very attractive right now.  We have a clean, beautiful city with wonderful recreation facilities and a city council focused on growth.
