The Government of Saskatchewan has announced that they will be switching to a new company to provide the province with new photo radar cameras.

The swap will save the province a handfull of money as well. As it stands, the current Edmonton based private company Saskatchewan gets its traffic cameras from charges approximately 2 million dollars per year for 8 cameras in Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, and Regina, along with the mailing of the tickets.

The new company, based out of Vancouver, will provide cameras for the next 5 years for only $740,000 annually, or 60% less.

The new photo radar company will be taking over next month. The contract will be a fixed rate, and not based on the number of tickets issued.
