Well, we did it.  Saskatchewan has set a natural gas consumption record.

Most people expected it to happen with the cold snap and SaskEnergy is confirming that the new record was set over a 24 hour period that started on Boxing Day.  Folks heading back to work on Wednesday morning likely helped to push us over the top. The new record of 1.43 PetaJoules, seven per cent higher than the record set last winter.

Officials will be watching again today to see if a new record gets set with even colder conditions.
