Once standing alone in the fight against a federal carbon tax, Saskatchewan now has an ally. Ontario Premier Doug Ford was in Saskatchewan Thursday meeting with Premier Scott Moe to talk about their plan to push back against Ottawa.

Saskatchewan's opposition started under former Premier Brad Wall while Moe has continued by asking the Court of Appeal if the carbon strategy is constitutional. Meanwhile, newly elected Premier Ford is taking the federal Liberals to court and Saskatchewan will apply for intervener status, meaning the Moe government can join in on the lawsuit that is already underway.

The duo is soon to become a trio, as Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister has announced his province will not implement a flat carbon tax, as first announced and will also stand opposed to the demands from Ottawa.
