They're not everywhere, but where they are is easily identified.

Huge clusters of moths are gathering on walls, windows and even inside homes and buildings in the Friendly City.

The insects appeared to move in overnight on June 29th, and won't likely be leaving anytime soon.

Marcy Duffey, owner of Keon Garden Centre in Moose Jaw, says we're in a 3-year cycle where the moths are prominent and that they are likely the next evolution of the tent caterpillars spotted weeks ago.

"We were really, really early this year with the tent caterpillar problem because of the warm Spring, and the warm winter of course. We didn't get that late frost in May,... we just had really nice warm weather, and they were really early and they were done early. What's happened now is they've gone and formed their cocoons and probably... they are hatching into moths."

Duffey also said that colour plays a big role in attracting the moths.

"They LOVE light. So they're just going to be going to the light colored buildings, to your screens... to try to get to the light."

Duffey says the moths will likely stick around for about 10 days.
