Looks like the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre may be returning to it's Capitol Theatre roots.

Most recently, they allowed all beverages to be brought into the Mae Wilson theatre, not just water. They've received a lot of good feedback from theatergoers and their planning to improve people's experiences there even more.

Now that the Saskatchewan Festival of Words has kicked off their 20th year of Cineview, they've partnered with the Cultural Centre to show more films at the Mae Wilson.

The first movie o the year will be shown on January 9th. "Finding Your Feet" will hit the screens at the theatre, and depending on how people bringing drinks into the auditorium goes, a movie snack favourite could also be allowed in there soon.

"One of the concerns we had [with the beverages] was the fact that it might spill on the carpet, it might increase our cleaning bills and that sort of thing, but so far this year it hasn't been that much of a problem," General Manager of the Cultural Centre Derik Cronin explained. "We look forward to possibly being able to bring popcorn in for movies, it's something we'll have to talk to Parks and Recreation about and just get approval on but hopefully it will be something we can do in the future here."

It's unclear if popcorn will be allowed during performances also, but drinks will still be allowed.

They could also be bringing more films to the Mae Wilson this year with an upgrade to their tech.

"If our plans go forward, we are hoping to get a new projector in 2019 which would allow us to work more with films along the lines with the Festival of Words because we need to upgrade our technology in order to show most of the Toronto International Film Festival shows they screen," Cronin detailed.

You can keep an eye out for more Cineview movies and other films coming to the Cultural Centre on their calendar of events.
