Chili cooks and connoisseurs can come down to Royal Canadian Legion –Branch 59 on Saturday, April 27 for the annual Moose Jaw Elks Lodge #7 Chili Challenge.

There are typically 12-14 entries into the competition.

There are two categories which the chilis can win, the first is the Judges Choice award, and the other is the People's Choice award. The winners will walk away with custom made Elks cutting boards commemorating their win.

“Come down. It’s a lot of fun. It's open to the public... if we have 14 chilis they’ll get little cups numbered 1 to 14 and they’ll get a piece of paper, and they mark down the number that they figure was the best,” says Tracy Lichacz a member of the Moose Jaw Elks Lodge.

It costs $10 to enter your chili into the competition or $10 to attend and enjoy the chili on offer at the competition.

The event also features a 50/50 draw, a silent auction and door prizes.

All proceeds from the event will go to support families and children in Moose Jaw with various special medical needs.

Participants can register before April 24, via email at elkslodge7@sasktel.net or by contacting Bonnie at (306) 631-0830 or Tracy at (306) 630-4759
