A fundraiser in support of suicide Awareness & Prevention and the local Journey to Hope chapter is taking place this weekend. Dawn Froats shares how she feels she can impact the cause as much as she can.

Froats will be at Rise-Above fitness on Saturday and her goal is to row between 40,000 to 50,000 meters before friends and family can take over. Last year, she road 30,000 meters before other helpers stepped in.

This year being the fundraisers second time running, Froats explains why this event means so much to her.

"I started out last year, I just wanted to raise a little bit of money for Journey to Hope for their walk. I have a close friend who's been effected. I've had quite a few family members and students I've worked with who've been effected, so I just felt in my heart I needed to do something that would give back to the to the Journey to Hope and help support them and the cause that they work within Moose Jaw."

For all those we've lost loved ones and the families effected, Froats says she's proud to announce that #MakeFroatsRow has raised $12,825 and still growing within these 2 years.

Froats goal is to get over $7,000 and row 70,000M this year while currently sitting at $6,625 so far.
