Despite having never been in the legislature, Alanna Koch has announced she will be running to replace Brad Wall as leader of the Sask Party.

Koch most recently served as Deputy Minister to the Premier and Cabinet Secretary. Before that she was the Saskatchewan Deputy Minister of Agriculture for nine years.

Koch did not say if she would run in the next election if she lost the leadership race, but is instead only focused on the race at hand.

She joins the other candidates in the leadership race that have already announced their campaigns: Gord Wyant, Ken Cheveldayoff, Tina Beaudry-Mellor and Jeremy Harrison.
