With above average highs in both July and August in Moose Jaw and most of the southwest, it could mean a hot start to September.

Terri Lang, a Meteorologist at Environmental Canada talks about how long this recent heat wave will last.

"We kind of have one last blast, it looks like of some warm temperatures coming towards the province," Lang said. "We certainly, do see a ring of a high-pressure building, so it looks like we should be getting some warm weather over the next week or so."

Lang also talked about what September might look like.

"Our outlook for fall tends to be very broad but it is forecasting temperatures above average in most of Canada, and it doesn't look like any outbreaks of cold weather are coming that way, so I think we can certainly look forward to that in September."

Lang added that their long range forecasts they use are usually a little bit optimistic.
