3,178 in-person votes, 530 advance poll votes, and 1 new councillor.

Heather Eby returned to council chambers last night for her first city council meeting since winning her seat in October 17th’s by-election;

"It feels great, but it kind of feels like I was on a short vacation and now I'm back to work. I want to thank the citizens of Moose Jaw for re-electing me, I've really felt their support the last 2 years of not being here and I certainly felt their support last week".

Eby joins council once again in what some would describe as a tough year for the city, where transparency to the public has been an ongoing issue for city council, as well as 3 members facing sanctions after an investigation into personal matters on the DFFH board.

"I'm just really hoping to bring back more communication among councillors, councillors to administration, then as a group back to the public so that the public feels more informed about things as we go along" says Heather, "I think we've made some good steps with communications director and communication strategies that have been in place."

Eby sat for two terms on city council before failing to gain enough votes in the 2016 election. She says shes glad to be back;

"Well [I'm] just really looking forward to getting back up to speed on the things that this council has been working on for the past two year. I am really looking forward to working on the budget process too; which seems odd."

October 17th's by-election saw Heather Eby edge out Doug Blanc, Mike Bachiu, and Steven White for the open spot on council.
