The South Central Early Childhood Intervention Program, or ECIP for short, is dedicated to helping kids with any type of developmental problem.

"We can work with children who have anything as mild as a speech delay to children who have multiple physical and cognitive challenges," said Nancy Rosnes, Executive Directer of South Central ECIP.

Being in charge of the South Central area in Saskatchewan, the ECIP group that's based in Moose Jaw has a lot of ground to cover. That area includes as far north as Craik, between Moose Jaw and the U.S border, Roleau and a little beyond, and kids that are about halfway to Swift Current.

That's a lot of ground to cover, and while they get funding from the Ministry of Education, it isn't enough. The funding they receive only covers overhead. That includes wages, rent, and utilities for their building. If they want to take kids anywhere, hold any events or activities, or buy toys or equipment for their children, they have to fundraise for it.

So tonight ECIP will be holding a ribs and caeser night to raise money for all their other needs. The event is at Bugsy's, but if you let them know in advance, they'll seat and serve you on the Smitty's side.

Tickets are $20 each and are available by calling (306) 692-2616 or by texting (306) 630-5892. Tickets are also available at the door.

If you're going to be sitting in Bugsy's, the night goes from 6 pm to 9 pm, and only until 8 pm at Smitty's.

If you're interested in helping out with more that just donations, the group is looking for some extra hands.

"Right now we have vacancy on our board, we have room for a few more people to come on," said Rosnes. "Even if you don't come onto the board we're always looking for volunteers to help out with any of the events that we run and of our fundraisers."
