Culture Days is celebrated nationally and makes an appearance in Moose Jaw every year, but they've planned to make this their biggest yet.

The Western Development Museum (WDM) and Moose Jaw Pride are working together to provide two separate hubs to celebrate cultures September 30th.

The WDM is running a "Sharing our Heritage, Past, Present, and Future" hub down at the amphitheater from 11 am to 5 pm.

Described as a trading post theme, the hub will have the Wakamow Aboriginal Community Association (WACA) there, a Metis camp, New Southern Plains Metis Local #160 helping out, a French trading post put on by the Association Communauté Francophone (ACF), and a WDM pop up museum about the fur trade.

"Everybody should participate, it's definitely a family thing," said Karla Rasmussen with the WDM. "It's great for individuals. Any age is welcome to come down there."

Moose Jaw Multicultural Council will also be at the gathering, talking about what it takes to be a newcomer in Canada. Not only in the present, but in the past when early Europeans came and cooperated with the First Nations people.

Moose Jaw Pride also has a hub set up in the Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery from to 1 to 5 pm with their theme of "150 Plus Years of Stories," focusing on story telling and the importance of it in Canada.

Their hub will have the Festival of Words holding an event, WACA's blanket exercise, the button booth, history lessons in partnership with Moose Jaw Trolley, Syrian dance lessons and some other arts and activities going on and a reception at 7 pm.

All events and activities are free down in the park.

"Lots of different things happening all in that Moose Jaw Public Library Art Gallery complex," said Joe Wickenhauser with Moose Jaw Pride. "We're really excited, so many hands-on things, something for everyone and we really encourage people to come down."
