A substantial donation was made to the Saskatchewan fleet for STARS Air Ambulance Thursday night in honour of the emergency responders who helped with the Humboldt bus crash. 16 lives were lost in the tragedy but thanks to the response from emergency personnel, many were saved and STARS played a role in that.

The Moose Jaw Generals hosted a benefit game for those impacted by the crash on Thursday and before the puck drop Food Service Director for Mosaic Place Bryan Smylski presented a cheque for $25,000 on behalf of Compass Group.

"We were able to present it tonight and it's great timing to do it at a game like this." said Smylski. "It's a horrible tragedy and we're just happy that we can do something for the community here in Saskatchewan."

Smylski said they picked STARS because the GoFundMe page for the Broncos was so successful, they wanted to make sure the first responders got some help after helping so many people.
