On Monday night at city council some issues with the paperwork for Canadian Protein Innovation were addressed.

The contract on the offer to purchase a parcel of land in the new industrial park is set to close at the end of the week, but the developer is now asking for more time.

City manager Matt Noble says they received an email and then confirmation from CPI's lawyers that the investors misunderstood the conditions on the contract, thinking that they just needed to prove they had financing in place when in fact they needed to pay the city for the land by June 30th.

CPI has asked for a two month extension to the closing date and council has approved the motion, giving the developer until the end of August.
