Bill Boyd has resigned from the Saskatchewan Party caucus effective immediately. The move to start the week comes after a report from the Conflict of Interest Commissioner which stated that he fell below the standards expected of an MLA.

The main focus of the report was a trip that Boyd took to China where he misrepresented himself and his position with the government.  The trip was supposed to be used to find investors for a new company that he was working to establish and had no connection to his government role, however the presentation was filled with provincial government images.

Premier Brad Wall called for Boyd to resign saying the report is to be taken seriously and while Boyd was already on the road to retirement, Wall wanted immediate action.
