Slowly but surely, the arts are beginning to make a comeback as restrictions are gradually lifted.

After a summer of only virtual programming, the Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery will be re-opening their doors on August 10th.

Head Curator, Jennifer McRorie says that their spring exhibitions are still up with more soon to come.

"Our fall show is going ahead as planned. We do have a little bit of juggling to do because the shows that were cancelled this summer are going to be rescheduled into next year's programming."

McRorie reports that the online presence has actually helped them reach a larger audience.

"We've had some really great responses to the virtual programming we've done so we're thinking that we would like to continue to have an online presence in that way. For instance, I think we are going to continue to put our exhibitions online as well as opening the gallery."

Their virtual art classes have been especially appreciated by families with developmentally challenged children who ten to work better one on one.

The art gallery's hours will now be from Monday to Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Wednesday mornings from 10 am to noon will be open to seniors and the immunocompromised.
