The Saskatchewan Health Authority is once again expanding COVID-19 vaccine booking eligibility.

Effective March 31 at  8 a.m., all residents aged 60 and older will be able to schedule their vaccination appointment by calling 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 pm, or online.

As of yesterday, Mar. 29, a total of 179,800 vaccines had been administered in the province with 8,256 of those being here in the South Central Zone. Of those, 1,009 were second doses.

The SHA has also announced that a drive-thru AstraZeneca vaccine clinic will be coming to Moose Jaw with more details expected to be released this week.

1.5 million AstraZeneca vaccines are arriving in Canada from the U.S. today, Mar. 30, with approximately 46,000 of those coming to Saskatchewan.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) issued updated guidelines on the use of AstraZeneca in Canada, recommending that use for populations under 55 be paused, pending further review of vaccine safety. Saskatchewan will be following this recommendation.
