52 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday in Saskatchewan, along with 16 new recoveries.
The new cases include nine in the Far North West, nine in Saskatoon, and six in Regina. There are no new cases in the South Central zone.
Six cases are considered active in the south-central zone, with five of those located in the sub-region 'south central 2' which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.
412 cases are considered active, and 43 people are in hospital with 34 receiving inpatient care, and nine are in intensive care.
An additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,400,844.
The additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 174; Far North Central, 6; Far North East, 80; North West, 403; North Central, 356; North East, 403; Saskatoon, 1,603; Central West, 355; Central East, 334; Regina, 1,357; South West, 99; South Central, 169; and South East, 472. There were 208 doses administered with zone of residence pending.
Seventy-five per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 63 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
It should also be noted that on Monday, the government of Saskatchewan announced that they would be discontinuing drive-thru vaccine appointments, and appointments booked online and over the phone. Instead, they will be focusing their efforts on public outreach and setting up walk-up vaccination clinics in public venues and at summer events.
A Pfizer walk-in clinic is scheduled for Friday at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
