That's a wrap on the 2019 Toy Days.

Within just two days, a wide variety of toy donations filled two big boxes at Canadian Tire in Moose Jaw. Donations ranged from teddy bears and Play-Doh to Lite Brite, LEGO, and Dickie Toys Construction sets along with lots of other items from toy manufacturers such as Fisher-Price

Major Wendy Broome explains how meaningful this community is.

"It's the spirit of Christmas, and it makes it more meaningful to us when the community comes together because if we didn't have the community we wouldn't be able to do this. Thank you Moose Jaw for stepping up to the plate again, we appreciate you so much, each and everyone one of you and so will the children that will be receiving these toys in the next few weeks."

A toy drive such as this will allow many families the opportunity to have presents under the tree come Christmas morning.

The Salvation Army comes through with people who need assistance around Christmas time with donations to local families and there's still time.

Not wanting to turn anyone away, their office is open Monday to Friday from 9 to 11:30 am and 1-4 pm, Broome encourages anyone who needs help to get in this week and not leave it to the last minute so everything can be wrapped up and ready to go for the children and families on-time.

The support from the community is what really drives an event like this, making holidays happy for everyone in our community.

Thank you, Moose Jaw for your continued support.
