Three Moose Jaw Warriors will be hoping to hear their names called on Wednesday afternoon as the Western Hockey League hosts its annual awards luncheon.

Warriors captain Josh Brook is the Eastern Conference nominee for WHL Defenceman of the Year. He will be going up against Ty Smith of the Spokane Chiefs. Brook tied for the WHL lead with 75 points in just 59 games.

Fresh off his time at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship, Brayden Tracey will be vying for the WHL Rookie of the Year award. The Western Conference nominee is Kelowna Rockets forward Lassi Thomson. Tracey led all rookies in the Canadian Hockey League with 36 goals and 81 points this season.

Justin Almeida is also up for Brad Hornung Trophy as the WHL's Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Year. Almeida will be up against Cody Glass of the Portland Winterhawks. Almeida finished the season with 111 points and just 14 penalty minutes.

The awards will be handed out in Red Deer on Wednesday, starting at 12:15 p.m.
