Moose Jaw’s Skylar Ackerman and Team Saskatchewan split their games at the 2018 Canadian Under-18 Women’s Curling Championship on Wednesday.

Saskatchewan suffered their first loss at nationals in the morning draw, falling 6-5 to Ontario, but they bounced back in the afternoon with a 7-3 win over Prince Edward Island.

The split puts Saskatchewan’s record at 3-1 heading into the final day of the round robin on Thursday.

In the morning game against Ontario, Saskatchewan led 5-4 heading into the eighth end, but Ontario was able to score a deuce to pull off the win and stay unbeaten at nationals.

Saskatchewan rebounded with a strong effort in the afternoon as they played a tight game against P.E.I. The two sides were tied at 3-3 heading into the eighth when Saskatchewan found a way to score four and take the victory.

Team Sask will finish the round robin with games against Yukon and New Brunswick on Thursday. The double knockout medal round will start on Friday.
