There's the Coral Ethnic Market and Boss Taxi.  There's the Collective Beauty Barn and Paws 'n Play Pet Grooming and Boutique.

You can find them and many more local businesses on the list of nominees for tonight's Moose Jaw Business Excellence Awards.

There are 12 different categories and dozens of nominees and I'll admit, there are a few I've never patronized and a few I've never heard of.  I'm chalking that up to a bright future in our city - with a number of locals finding ways to serve the community with the goods and services we're demanding.

Chances are not all of them will be successful but I'll bet a few of them will thrive into the future.  And, if I were involved in a new business venture, I might spend some time tonight talking with the people from Gemmell's Shoes, Hub Meat Market, Rodos Pizza and Wells Camera and Sound Fotosource - successful local businesses which are all nominated in the Pillar of the Community category.
