In the final tune-up before next week's city championship, the Moose Jaw High School Badminton League's junior division hit the court on Wednesday at Peacock Collegiate.

Cornerstone walked away with a pair of first place finishes as Joel Godard won the boys singles division, while John Ferris and Zach Beital took top spot in boys doubles.

Godard edged out Central's Mikkel Hrechka and Austin Lin in the boys singles division.

It was a Cornerstone sweep of the top-three spots in the boys doubles division with Caleb Kaminski and Javan Atkins, along with Tyson Lewis and Matt Reuss finishing second and third respectively.

In girls singles, Vanier's Jenna Meili took first place over Peacock's Samantha Swalm and fellow Vanier athlete Mykayla Fysh.

Central's team of Vera Gauvin and Tom Naranbaater finished first in the mixed doubles division. Cornerstone's Mew Ruang and Kei Hanafusa were second and Eh Tei Ha and Ashley Hughes from Central placed third.

In girls doubles, Serena Schlamp and Caitlin Miller from Peacock claimed top prize over Central's Ellie and Emma Hill in second and Myriam Levesque and Ryann Handley from Vanier in third.

The senior city final tournament goes on Tuesday, followed by the junior tournament on Wednesday. Peacock will also host districts next Saturday and regionals on May 5.
