Environment Canada shows that Moose Jaw will see a high of plus 9 on Thursday.

This comes after a week that started with a deep freeze brought by an Alberta clipper rolling through the centre of the province.

Daytime highs today are minus 17, which is quite a bit colder than the minus 2 average for this time of year.

Samantha Mauti, meteorologist with Environment Canada, says there’s another system passing through the southern part of Saskatchewan that will bring a moment of relief on Thursday. “A warm front is passing to bring those temperatures up – very very temporarily.”

“It is another quick system, so the cold front is not far behind the warm front.”

After Thursday, below normal temperatures are expected until the end of the week and possibly beyond, with daytime highs ranging from minus 10 to minus 13.
