Moose Jaw Women Who Care will be fundraising for Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw during a virtual information session on February 10th at 7 pm through Zoom.

The Moose Jaw Women Who Care is a community charity organization that was began in March of 2021. It's a group of inspired women from Moose Jaw and surrounding areas who gather together three times per year for one hour. A charity shares its cause to the group's membership and then each member or team of members up to 4 people write a cheque to that charity for $100.

"We exist to bring awareness to and raise funds for organizations like Heartland Hospice," says Nicole Lillico, Chairperson of Moose Jaw Women Who Care, in an interview with Mix103 Radio Host Sharon Church.

The information session will showcase Angela Sereda, Chairperson of Heartland Hospice. She'll be talking to viewers about the importance of end-of-life care, the resources they offer, and how they assist the palliative care centre at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital.

"Hospice care is something that people don't generally think about until someone they care (about) requires that... So we have a vision to create an end-of-life haven in Moose Jaw for individuals and their families to be supported by a circle of compassionate care," said Sereda in the same interview.

The event will be collecting donations for the Heartland Hospice organization that will go towards the support they offer and bettering their resources. People who donate will be put in a draw for a prize basket.
