The story of a Moose Jaw born woman will be shown on the screen Thursday evening at the Mae Wilson Theatre. It's a documentary on Frances Olson, who broke down barriers for women in the real estate industry back in the 1960s.

"She would get home and they would be discussing the different houses that they had looked at and she would remember everything, all of the colours and the layout and her husband Ralphy couldn't even believe it so he told her that she'd be great in real estate." said spokesperson Cyndie Knorr.

"He went to all of his real estate friends and asked them to hire her but there were hardly any real estate women back then because women were not supposed to be working outside of the home, especially married women."

Knorr says Olson was one of the first to come up with the idea of using the typically "for sale" signs that we see today on front lawns.  The signs used to be just put on the front door to a home that was for sale but Olsen wanted something that had better exposure.

The doors open at 6pm for attendees to meet Olson in person and the documentary starts at 7pm. You can get tickets at the Cultural Centre Box office.
