With the lack of rain for the last several weeks in southern Saskatchewan, things are dry and grass fires are a real concern.

There were two just Tuesday night for the Moose Jaw Fire Department.  The first was around 6 o'clock when fire fighters responded to a call near Tuxford. Then at 9:30, fire trucks rolled to the 600 block of Laurier for a grass fire along Spring Creek.

Hunters and farmers are also being reminded to take extra caution at this time of the year.  The exhaust pipes from a truck can be hot enough to start a fire if you stop your vehicle in tall grass or stubble. When out in the country, we're being reminded to stick to the roads.
